Homeschool Unified Sports Teams of Lafayette

Soccer

Open registration for the 2025 season is now closed.  We still have a need for female high school players, so please contact Dana Gottfried (dgottfried@slcfworld.com) and Andy Jordan (andrinicjordan@gmail.com) if your high school girl would like to play.  Due to the need for a few more players, we are willing to accept non-homeschool girls for the girls high school team.

You may now pay your soccer fees for the 2025 season.  See below for the fee schedule and the process for paying your fee.  Please pay by June 15, 2025.  Thank you!

 Eligibility

To participate in the regular season games of HUSTL soccer, the student's education shall be based at home, with curriculum, instruction, and graduation requirement decisions directed by parents/guardians (allowable options include homeschool co-ops, umbrella schools, and dual credit college courses). [EXCEPTION: Each team is allowed two roster positions for student athletes whose homeschool designation is unclear or who attend a school that does not offer the sport of soccer.] Any special tournaments, e.g. end-of-the-season tournament, may have eligibility requirements that differ from these and will be handled based on the tournament rules.

High School Eligibility: Children who are no older than 19 by October 26, 2025, have not graduated from high school by October 26, 2025, and are homeschooled are eligible for the high school team.  We plan to have a boys varsity high school team and a girls varsity high school team.

Junior High Eligibility: The upper cut-off date for junior high is October 12, 2010.  If your child's birthday is before this cut-off date, he/she must play at the high school level.  Students must be homeschooled.

Elementary Eligibility: The upper cut-off date for U12 ("under 12") is October 12, 2013.  If your child's birthday is before this cut-off date, he/she must play at the junior high level.  Students must be homeschooled.

Children born AFTER 2016 are not eligible to play with HUSTL soccer, but we hope they can play with us in the future!

Team Communication

Important communication about day-to-day issues with soccer, e.g. game time changes, weather cancellations, come through the Team Reach App.  Please install this on your phone and use the code "TipTornSoccer" to access our group.

 2025 Game Schedule

The game schedule will be developed in the spring of 2025.  Games are usually on Saturdays and sometimes on Monday and Thursday evenings.  Games start around the beginning of August and continue through the second weekend of October, which is the Indiana State Tournament.  Home games are held at the Indiana Veterans' Home.

The Indiana State Tournament is mandatory for all players and will be all day Friday and Saturday, October 3-4, 2025.  The location is Zionsville, at the Warriors' fields (ZYSA).

The game schedule will be posted on the TeamReach app, under the group code "TipTornSoccer".

We Need Help from Parents to Make the Season Run Smoothly

The soccer fees cover payment to the game referees, uniforms, and equipment. Volunteer help from parents is necessary to keep the team running smoothly. We presently need parents to volunteer time for these tasks:

  • Team parents (for each team) who will take care of logistical items for game days, e.g. team tent and captains bands
  • Home game concessions coordinator
  • Organize end-of-the-season banquet

Please ask Dana Gottfried if you would like more information about one of these tasks, or if you would like to volunteer for one of these tasks (dgottfried@slcfworld.com).
